This was one of my favorite weddings to capture to date! The amy and shawn<\/a> are so humble, fun, and are such DIYers! every little detail had meaning and was thought out thoroughly. amy wore two amazing wedding dresses: for the ceremony, she wore her mom’s wedding dress, which was made by her grandmother. amy’s mom passed away two years ago, and amy made a few changes to modernize it. she looked amazing walking down the aisle in her mom’s dress that her grandmother made. amy went to school for fashion design so for her second dress, she designed a reception dress that was non-traditional and fun. <\/p>\n

the ceremony location was at the bride’s grandmother’s beautiful backyard in pearland, texas, where her late grandfather and grandmother built their home and backyard garden, and weathered greenhouse from the ground up. the reception was at a reception hall that they were able to transform to a super fun southern bbq dinner. here are some of my favorites from amy & shawn’s “best day ever” intimate southern texas diy wedding!<\/p>\n
