My family & friends know that no matter where I go, I always carry a camera.

I believe that there is a story to capture in every moment...whether it is in an expression, an intimate look between a couple, a shared laugh among friends or a twinkle in the eye. Some of the most memorable photographs are the ones that are most natural, which leads to my photojournalistic approach when it comes to weddings & sessions. I love watching the day unfold. Anais Nin once said, "We write to taste life twice, in the moment, and in retrospection." If only she knew that photography would allow for the same.

I am also greatly influenced by fashion photography, so a lot of this inspiration shows in my work. My background in arts & design also contributes in large part to my style and aesthetics.

My aim is to give clients a sense of who they are & what makes their relationships extraordinary, all while having a fun time doing it! Perhaps they will see me through the photographs as well: a bit of spunk, boldness, chic + fun! At the very least, clients will be able to laugh at my awesome jokes! =)

Life moves at an incredibly fast pace, so I feel incredibly lucky to be able to freeze little moments in time. I feel very blessed to do what I love & love what I do, and I hope my passion and skills for photography and design show in my work!

brandi + adam | family | laguna beach

brandi contacted me about doing a family session for photos that will be featured in a documentary series called australian story. the episode will be airing today, monday, july 18th in australia and will be available to view online here.

‘australian story’ is a documentary-style program airing weekly on ABC [Australian Broadcasting Corporation – australia’s national broadcaster]. the show examines the lives of ordinary Australians who are doing extraordinary things. Five years ago, abc filmed with the Latto family. Alisa Latto and her two brothers had inherited a connective tissue disorder called Marfan syndrome from their mother. In this episode they document Alisa’s extraordinary journey to become a mother…with the help of a very special woman from California, Brandi.

the producers of the show suggested the photos be taken at the beach so we headed out to treasure island beach in laguna beach. i love the light in socal! LOVE! check out some of my favorite images from our session below…

christina + eric | engagement | union station + pasadena city hall

this was such a fun session to shoot. i love the difference & contrast between day and night. the fun & cute couple during the day and the dramatic and sexy couple at night.

christina & eric chose all the locations and i LOVED them all. our first location was the central library in downtown los angeles. for the second location, we headed over to union station. lastly we went arrived at pasadena city hall. the last two locations were the perfect setting for the dramatic feel we were going for.

can’t wait for their wedding at the st. regis monarch beach in november! also, check out their awesomely adorable stop motion STD video that was featured on style me pretty‘s page, after the all photos! SO CUTE!

jamie + dwight | engagement | long beach

happy 4th everyone! hope everyone will be enjoying the holiday with family & friends! the bf and I are heading out to a bbq soon but wanted to share this lovely session first.

this session makes me smile. love the colors and the couple! =)

jamie & dwight met in high school. dwight is a high school art teacher and jamie is a freelance illustrator. they’ve been together for 10 years and got engaged last year in japan. jamie & dwight decided to keep up with the japanese theme for their engagement session so we headed out to the earl burns miller japanese garden at cal state long beach. since the garden closes early, we had to schedule our session at noon, when the sun was at it’s highest and brightest…but luckily, it was overcast and the clouds didn’t burn off until we headed to our second location. hilltop park in signal hill has an amazing view of the city. it was quite windy when we got there but everything worked out perfectly!

can’t wait for their september wedding at the tivoli terrace in laguna beach! =)

julie + oscar | wedding | fountain valley

julie & oscar’s wedding was so fun to shoot! they had an awesome mariachi band to entertain guests during cocktail hour and at the reception.

they’re neighbors…they literally live 2 steps away from each other at their downtown los angeles apartment complex. how cool is that?! on one of their first dates, oscar took julie out salsa dancing and from then on, they’ve shared many dances but nothing compares to their first dance together as man & wife. it was awesome watching them glide & dip through their dance. when the DJ started up the party…EVERYONE…i mean everyone came out to dance and it amazed me that each person knew all the dance steps for each dance style and/or song! the only dance i know how to do is the macarena. don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. haha. =/

kelly + thi | engagement | mission inn riverside

happy monday! hope everyone had a great father’s day weekend! my family and i celebrated by having a fun father’s day bbq for my dad & uncle. love QT time with the fam. =)

so, i recently got to shoot at the gorgeous mission inn in riverside. [if you’re in the area, drop by just to see the place…seriously beautiful!] the hotel has such an old vintage feel with some european charm to it! kelly and thi suggested the hotel and I couldn’t be happier with their choice! after the hotel and before hiking up mt rubidoux for more photos, we came across a cute bakery called casey’s cupcake, who was the 2011 winner of cupcake wars and bought some sweets. on the way up to mt rubidoux, which is really just walk up a paved road, we stopped to enjoy the scenery and kelly & thi indulged in their delicious treats. mt rubidoux has an amazing view of the city. the hike up definitely did not disappoint! =)
